I’m currently a sophomore at Victory Christian Academy. This is my first year at VCA, and so far it’s been so exciting to join a community of great people.
I’ve been the editor-in-chief of my middle school newspaper, The JefferSun, and have taken post at the Victory Voice as copy editor, following in the footsteps of my mother who majored in journalism.
Other than mercilessly editing the articles that go into the production of the Victory Voice, I enjoy music, fashion, and performance art. I have big interests in the sociology of fame and avant-garde fashion. The decay of celebrity culture, the rise and fall of musical artists’ work, and the steps of how artists or celebrities achieved their ‘fame’ are big studies to me. I love reading about different stars who have influenced culture throughout time.
I also love performing; I have played guitar since I was eight years old and have been doing piano for about two years now. I love every aspect of performance art, and plan to continue my passion of it into the future. I’m very inspired by Billy Idol, Steve Perry, James Dean, Bruce Springsteen, and Andy Warhol.
I might not be quite the ‘pop artist’ yet, but that won’t be stopping me from trying! I’ve been dabbling into electronic pop for about a year now, after doing acoustic-indie music for most of my performing timespan. The chance of seeing my name in lights? Not likely. But I’ll try everyday to make a positive influence on the world and define who I am everyday.
When I graduate from high school, I plan on pursuing a degree in either Fashion Merchandising or Marketing.
