Matthew Stefanski

Founding Editor-in-Chief Emeritus

September, 2011

I’m distantly related to the Kennedy family, I’m ornithophobic (afraid of birds), and I’m currently writing a book. These are some peculiar, but true facts concerning myself. However, these facts about me do not describe my passion.

Yes, I have about a different dozen extra-curriculur roles at school, and I’m proud of every single one of them. I have a hectic, complicated agenda every week, but I really love my zealous schedule. I am such a busy body, and I can rarely just sit down and simply do nothing for a few minutes. Also, I maintain a part-time job and regularly volunteer at my church.

However, my most important responsibility and true passion is journalism. My ultimate goal as a student at Victory Christian Academy was to create a student newspaper. Through countless hours of work and planning, myself and my staff finally have a publication which we can present to our student body. Personally, most of my free time is occupied by work for The Victory Voice, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I plan on majoring in Journalism and minoring in Political Science in during the fall of 2012 at Indiana University, however I plan on specializing in news reporting or investigative journalism. I’m eager to graduate high school, but also savor each moment of my high school experience. Wherever I do end up later in life, I hope I can be a mentor those around me. I want to make a difference, and by being Editor-in-Chief of The Victory Voice, I can do just that.

Where is he now?
Matt graduated as Valedictorian from Victory Christian Academy in 2012. He is directly admitted as a Media Scholar to the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University where he is majoring in journalism and minoring in Political Science.
